Although native all throughout Europe and large parts of Asia, the
European dewberry is a rare member of the Rosaceae family.
The European Dewberry looks very similar to blackberries. The most
striking distinctive feature from blackberries might be the bluish waxy
skin of the fruits.

These berries, which are actually aggregates of drupelets, disintegrate easily into their single fruits. They taste is almost the same as blackberries, but a bit more sour than these and a lot juicier. The fruits can be picked straight from the shrub,
or can be processed to jam and dewberry liqueurs. If you want to try something quite familiar and at the same time excitingly new, the European dewberry is the perfect plant to grow.
